The essence of parkour can be stated simply: it is the art of overcoming obstacles as swiftly and efficiently as possible using only your body. The fundamentals include running, jumping, and climbing and we build on these fundamentals to improve our ability to pass over, under, around and through obstacles with more complex movements.

Washington Parkour is a community of traceurs (parkour practitioners) who connect online and in person to train, discuss and share knowledge about the world of parkour. We practice in the urban and natural environments and encourage creativity, safety, self-discipline, and respect for the community in the practice of parkour. We welcome anyone regardless of experience.

Class Schedule Updates - February 2010

Sorry I've been slacking on these guys. Here's some updates for you. As per this thread, the next Parkour class @ Hart's Gymnastics will be on Saturday, February 13. The pertinent info is below, as well as in the forum thread. We may also have a class on the 27th depending on scheduling.

While this has been true for the month of November, I'd like to reiterate it here on the front page. In addition to the regular classes at Parkour Visions' Seattle Parkour Gym, there are open gym times from 7p to 9p on Monday nights and 5p to 8p on Friday and Saturday nights. The forum thread for that is here.


And the Tacoma classes being held at Crossfit Tacoma are still going strong 3 times a week. The schedule can be found at Parkour Visions or Crossfit Tacoma.

Also, Parkour Visions' Seattle Parkour Gym is officially open and classes are running there as per the schedule on the Parkour Visions website. The 3rd Parkour Gym in the nation has some great equipment to play on, and they're expanding all the time. Go partake in the hard work of the local instructors there and enjoy!


The facility location is in Fremont, at 4216 6th ave NW, Seattle 98107.


And the Tacoma classes being held at Crossfit Tacoma are still going strong 3 times a week. The schedule can be found at Parkour Visions or Crossfit Tacoma.


Bellevue classes are on hiatus until further notice.

Support parkour for at-risk youth & help our non-profit succeed

Parkour Visions (formerly the Pacific Northwest Parkour Association, or PNWPA) is asking for your help before 6/30/09 in the biggest fundraising opportunity in our history.

Parkour Visions needs your help! This year, through parkour, 500 at-risk youth will improve their self-esteem and fitness by learning to run, jump, climb, crawl, and vault over obstacles, transforming their everyday world into an epic playscape.

Parkour Visions has partnered with several public agencies / organizations to make this happen: a public after school program in Tacoma where 70% of the kids are on reduced or free lunch; four of the lowest-income apartment complexes in King County through New Futures; and our first Teen Crisis Center in Capitol Hill.

PNWPA Announces Classes in Bellevue, WA

The Pacific Northwest Parkour Association (PNWPA) is happy to announce new classes in Belleve at Northwest Crossfit's new Bellevue location. Due to the overwhelming response we received from the Bellevue free beginner clinic we are now starting regular classes there every Wednesday and Friday from 7:30pm-9:00pm.

Crossfit Tacoma classes expanding in April 2009

Starting in April the Crossfit Tacoma Parkour class schedule will be as follows:


Tue, 6p to 7p
Wed, 3:30p to 4:30p
Fri, 2p to 2:45p


The new monthly fee will be $75 a month. Drop in fee remains $10. You can still try out the class once for free. Let's get geared up for the Spring and Summer!
