Hey I decided to split the two jams threads for the Bellingham jam this time because I am dissapointed so many people don't even realize the outdoor sessions are happening to. If they weather is at all decent I really encourage every body to prioritize the the saturday outdoor session. Those who stayed around for the MN portion at the last Bham jam can attest to how good intense and fun the training is. Gyms are great for having fun, trying big stuff and developing confidence in scary movements but in the end what we are training for is to be able to do stuff outdoors. Bellingham offers some of the most amazing enviroments around for training parkour and MN in a natural setting so come on up on saturday and lets make this happen.

Date: Saturday the 17th
Time: 11:30
Meeting Location: My house 1130 24th st.
Bring layered athletic gear, a change of clothes, swimming gear, any martial arts training equipment you have, money for food, and a mind open to running barefoot, lifting people, rock, tree's and animals if neccesary and whatever other fun challenges I might through at you.

Seriously, swimming? You're aware it's cold outside, right?

Also, Calendared.

Its possible Raindog not likely we will see what happens. We could also get access to a pool for a relatively small cost if we want.

Everyone seriously needs to make it to these, you just don't even know. For those who have tried MN, I would say you should keep an open mind and see what Rafe might have to offer and those who haven't tried MN you don't know what you're missing! :D

It may sound extreme, but the sensation from training naturally is amazing and hard to get out of your blood. Once you go MN, you don't go back... to whatever you were before you did MN... :P

If all goes well and I can get the time off from work I'll definitely be going. Also, if some peoples in the U District want to pool a total of $6 I can come pick... 2-4 people up and take them up there because it's totally worth it if it gives more people the chance to train MN.

Also, if Jonathan goes, he has an ambulance which has uber room. However, thats J's call.

Hey, just a heads up to people going to the Bham Gym Jam. I can give rides to a few people, but you gotta PM me in advance so I can figure out seating. So far I think I only know of Aqua who needs a ride. Anyone else needs to PM me asap.

Methode Naturelle is basically the father of parkour, it is a discipline of physical and moral development developed by French physical culturist and solider George Hebert who served in Africa and was amazed by the physical capacity of the natives and believed we should train as the lived by focusing on developing as completely as possible the 10 basic capacities of human movement, walking, running, jumping, moving on all fours, climbing, swimming, balancing, lifting, throwing and self defense. So a Natural method training is similar to a parkour training except in addition to the all the running jumping climbing, we also lift, carry, throw, swim(weather permitting) and train self defense and the goal is to do all of these trainings with no breaks or ceasing of movement just periods of relative rest walking or jogging gently and this is all best done barefoot and bareshirt in natural enviroments. Raymond belle David belles father was practitioner of Methode Naturelle and its this training with Raymond passed on to david as well as his gymnastics and atheletic training and work as soldier and firefighter which primarily inspired the development of parkour.

o thank you. that sounds possibly a little hardcore for me, but i like the idea of integrating combat martial arts into parkour.

Haha, yeah it's not as crazy as it sounds. It's more about taking training to the roots then it is about being hardcore. Besides, just like Parkour, you train as hard as you want to. If you think something is a bit out there, you don't have to do it. :)

A good training practice in anything is scalable, and Mn is the same, so the ideal is barefoot, bareshirt, in the woods, running, that doesn't mean it unnaceptable were shoes, a shirt, or train in different environment. I could train people in MN in a gym. The idea is to progress just like in parkour just with broader range of things to improve on, so you can run but can you run without shoes? Well you start slowly maybe just walking, then running on grass then concrete etc etc. When My feet get burned out when I am MN training I just put my shoes back on. Its really fun actually and really worth checking out beginner, intermediate or advanced.
